Aggies READ book festival is happening this weekend

Meet authors, illustrators and storytellers while getting your little one excited about reading.

The NC A&T Literacy Scholars, under the Department of Educator Preparation, & the College of Education are hosting the Aggie READ (Reading Empowers Action and Discovery) book festival this Saturday from 10am – 2pm on the outdoor space near Proctor Hall on NC A&T’s campus. The rain location is Corbett Sports Center.

The Aggies READ book festival is the brainchild of Dr. Kellee D. Watkins, Ph.D., an Assistant Professor at NC A&T State University. Dr. Watkins says she struggled with reading as a child, and wanted to help today’s youth strengthen their skills.

The Aggie READ book festival is back for year three with four hours of activities for families including giveaways, face painting, and food. Authors and storytellers will take the stage to share their work. Meet them ahead of the book festival.
