The NABJ-Wall Street Journal Internship provides journalism students with hands-on experience and mentorship in award-winning newsrooms across the country, including New York, Chicago, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.
This internship helps prepare driven student journalists to gain newsroom experience before their senior year.
The program seeks interns who understand and can engage digital audiences across multiple platforms while being self-starters who can meet deadlines under pressure.
The internship is in person for 10 weeks between June and August. The role offers $28.57 an hour for 35 hours per week.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be an NABJ student member in good standing.
- Must be currently enrolled at an accredited U.S. college or university as an undergraduate sophomore or junior or a graduate student who has not yet completed their program. This internship is not open to graduating seniors or students who will have completed their degree before the start date.
- Must have reporting experience through campus media, internships or freelance work.
- Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale), verified by an official transcript.
- Must complete all application requirements before the deadline.
Applications close Oct. 31, 2025, at midnight PT. Interviews will begin in November 2025, with offers extended by January 2026.
