The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, in partnership with National Geographic, will host a screening of Episode 3, “A Desperate Place,” from National Geographic’s 2025 documentary “Hurricane Katrina: Race Against Time.”
Twenty years after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, National Geographic’s latest documentary examines the systemic disparities from preexisting racial and economic inequalities to the delayed government response that transformed a natural disaster into a human rights crisis.
The screening will take place in Crosby Hall, Room 215, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025.
Interested students can register by Oct. 20 here.
