Applications for the White House Correspondents’ Association Internship are Open!
The White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) is seeking motivated journalism, communications, public relations or social media students for a paid internship offering hands-on experience in media relations, social media strategy and digital communications.
Interns will help develop WHCA’s social media presence and communicate the organization’s mission to its members and the general public. This hybrid position provides an exclusive experience of the nation’s press corps, giving students the chance to work alongside journalists covering the White House.
The internship runs from Jan. 26 to May 4, 2026, with interns working approximately 10 hours per week in a hybrid format that combines in-person work in Washington, D.C., with some remote work. Pay is $20 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and manage social media campaigns highlighting the importance of a free press
• Create engaging content for major platforms, including posts, graphics and short videos
• Collaborate with WHCA staff on public engagement and communication strategies
• Support newsletters, press releases and event promotions
Eligibility Criteria
• Must be a current student or recent graduate in journalism, communications, public relations or social media
• Must demonstrate strong writing, editing and communication skills
• Must have familiarity with social media platforms and digital content creation
• Must show understanding of journalistic ethics and First Amendment principles
• Experience with videography or video editing is a plus
