Applications for The Baltimore Banner 2026 Summer Newsroom Internship Program are Open!

The Baltimore Banner is seeking passionate journalism students for its 2026 Summer Newsroom Internship Program. This paid, full-time opportunity offers hands-on experience in reporting and producing stories for one of the nation’s leading digital news outlets.

Interns will work as news, arts and culture, photo or sports reporters covering a variety of local stories. Each intern will also complete a passion project by the end of the program and participate in weekly training sessions focused on sourcing and interview skills.

The internship runs for 10 weeks, beginning in June 2026. Interns will work 40 hours per week, including some nights and weekends.

Eligibility Criteria

• Must have experience working for a college newspaper or previous internship

• Must demonstrate strong storytelling, photography or social media skills

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (sponsorship not provided)

Interested applicants must submit a cover letter, resume and two to three writing samples of their best work. Photo applicants should include samples or a portfolio in PDF format or as a website link.
