Applications for the Miami Herald/El Nuevo Herald Summer 2026 Internship are Open!

The Miami Herald and El Nuevo Herald are seeking passionate journalism students to join their newsroom for the summer 2026 internship program. This paid, full-time opportunity offers hands-on experience reporting and producing stories for one of the nation’s top news outlets.

Interns will work on assignments on the Herald’s investigative, visual, business, government, sports, public service, education and health teams, covering breaking and local news. They will gain real-world experience working alongside veteran journalists in a fast-paced newsroom environment.

The internship runs for 10 weeks on-site, beginning in early June.

Eligibility Criteria

• Must be enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university program

• Must be able to work in the Miami market

• Must pass a drug test

• Must be available to work 40 hours per week, including possible evening or weekend shifts

To apply, candidates must submit a cover letter, resume and four to six work samples that demonstrate their reporting and writing skills, along with the names and contact information of three references.
