Applications Open for WDIV Local 4’s Internship Program!

WDIV Local 4 is offering journalism students the opportunity to gain real-world newsroom experience through its internship program. This paid internship allows students to learn about journalism and broadcasting while working in Detroit’s No. 1 television market.

Interns will work closely with reporters, producers and editors in departments such as the Assignment Desk, ClickOnDetroit Digital Team, Sports, Health, Special Projects and Live in the D. Each placement offers an opportunity to develop journalism skills, learn newsroom operations and contribute to daily coverage.

Internships last 12 weeks and are available during spring, summer and fall semesters. Interns are expected to work up to 20 hours per week.

Eligibility Criteria

• Must be enrolled in a college program related to journalism, broadcasting or media

• Must receive academic credit from their school

• Must have completed at least one year of college

• Must be at least 18 years old

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong journalism and storytelling skills

• Previous experience in college or commercial media

• Enthusiasm, curiosity and willingness to learn

• Strong interest in news and current events
