SportsMEDIA Technology Corp. (SMT) is seeking aspiring sports broadcasters for its Spring 2026 Sports Broadcast Operations Internship in Durham, N.C. This paid part-time internship gives students field experience in live broadcast operations and production while training on industry-standard broadcast and data technologies.
Interns will assist with live sports broadcasts, troubleshoot equipment and software, manage CRM data and complete SMT’s internal certification training program. They will also support events from the company’s remote production studio and may travel to at least one event during the semester with travel expenses and per diem provided.
The internship offers opportunities to network with industry professionals, gain hands-on experience in real broadcast settings and earn course credit.
Interns will receive $14.50 hourly and report to SMT’s Durham director of operations.
Eligibility Criteria
• Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in communications, broadcasting, journalism or a related field
• Must have experience working in live broadcasts or productions
• Must possess strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Must have U.S. work authorization
