NBC4 Washington Is Now Accepting Summer 2026 Interns

NBC4 Washington is accepting applications for its Summer 2026 News, Digital and Community Affairs Internships. These paid opportunities allow students to gain newsroom experience across reporting, digital content and community engagement while working from NBC4’s headquarters.

Interns will participate in editorial meetings, assist with researching and writing news stories, shadow producers, contribute to digital and social content and support the station’s community affairs team with events and special projects. Students will also learn technical aspects of news gathering, receive professional mentoring and gain exposure to how a major local newsroom operates under daily deadlines.

Eligibility Criteria

• Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university program

• Must have sophomore standing or above (30 credits)

• Must be authorized to work in the United States

• Must commit to 20 hours per week from June 1 to Aug. 7, 2026

• Must be willing to work on site in Washington, D.C.

Preferred Qualifications

• Junior or senior standing

• GPA of 3.0 or above

• Interest in journalism, digital media, communications, marketing or public relations

• Strong writing, research and communication skills

• Ability to multitask, stay organized and meet deadlines

• Familiarity with social media platforms and basic digital tools
