The Black Sportswriters Hall of Fame is housed in Crosby Hall under the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. The Hall of Fame was founded by national sports journalist Rob Parker.
The inaugural class was inducted in the Spring of 2025. The first inductees include William C. Rhoden, Claire Smith and Mike Wilbon.
“The Original Six” pioneer sportswriters and editors – Bryan Burwell, Thom Greer, Sam Lacy, Wendell Smith, Larry Whiteside and Ralph Wiley—were also honored in memoriam at the this ceremony..
